Is anyone surprised that Bush is giving the bird to Congress, yet again? This time he's claiming executive privilege and refusing to allow White House aides to testify before Congress regarding the (most likely illegal) firing of federal prosecutors. (Source)Harriet Miers, former White House counsel, is one of the aides who has been called before Congress. It's a good thing that she withdrew her name from the Supreme Court nomination process, because it's very likely that this could end up before the Court.
Bush obviously has no respect for the rule of law. But the Democrats have only themselves to blaim for failing to impeach the guy. I mean, how much clearer could the case for impeachment be? It's like sending Mark Maguire in to be a pinch hitter in a Little League game. I mean, come on people! Could your job be any easier?
