I'm so upset! Kelly Clarkson announced yesterday that she is cancelling her summer tour. The news comes just one week before her newest album is slated to hit stores. Kelly had been taking a lot of heat from the press lately about her weight and the album hasn't received many positive reviews.“I’ve sold more than 15 million records worldwide, and still nobody listens to what I have to say. Because I’m 25 and a woman,” said Clarkson in Elle. “Everybody wants to come out with the same thing and put beats on it. That’s not here I am right now.”
I'm hoping that the tour cancellation doesn't mean something more long term. Because I LOVE Kelly. She's gorgeous and she has an amazing voice. And I like that she is trying to be more independent with this album. I am sick of the media calling her fat and saying she has no talent. I say bring it, girl!

Kelly's never been "beautiful" in my eyes and the eyes of many others. But that's okay, yet another issue we can disagree on. Plus, she's ruining her career.

I think Ani DiFranco needs to be added to your list, Joy, as well as the Indigo Girls.
I think that Kelly is beautiful, but obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Kelly is thinner than the average womyn but thicker than most celebrities. When I saw her perform in Phoenix, I was impressed because not everyone sounds good in a basketball arena and Kelly pulled it off. I'm gonna cop the disc this weekend instead of downoading because I wanna throw my money her direction.
But that's why we friends. Cuz we can like different things and still be cool. I heart you Joy!
